Hello and Welcome to my website

Happy New Year.

I am currently preparing for my first concert of 2012 with baritone Michael Hope and the Kingston Symphony at The Grand Theatre in Kingston, Ontario on January 20th. I'll be wearing my musical theatre "hat" for an evening which will feature songs & duets from the hit shows Phantom of The Opera, Cats, Evita, Les Miserables plus a few surprises. We always enjoy performing this special programme titled Music of the Night. It will be my first visit to Kingston and I'm really looking forward to seeing the sights and learning more about this historical city.

The new 2011/12 season began in September with some lovely news. A recording of Canadian classical new music, in which I sing as the vocal soloist with Calgary's Ensemble Resonance, was nominated for Best Classical Recording at this year's WCMA Awards. The CD is  titled "Electrospectives" and involves me singing in Portuguese, Chinese, English and even imitating a Chinook wind!!  The score for the duet, Shadows of an Uncounted Journey for voice and violin by Hope Lee, is now available to purchase from Furore Verlag, one of Germany's most prestigious publishers. You can hear some audio extracts from the CD on the recording pages of this website and it is also available to download at CD Baby and itunes.

 The season will include oratorio and recital performances, my new concert Viva La Diva  and a return visit with the City of London Sinfonia to sing The Tale of Peter Rabbit. You can read part of the review for last year's performance of this piece with the Nottingham Philharmonic at the Royal Concert Hall on the review page of this website. It was a fantastic opportunity to introduce young children to the experience of a live orchestra and  a lovely feeling to look out into an audience of beaming smiles of all ages.  More concert dates will be added to the schedule page as they are confirmed.

 I am currently President of the Inter Mountain chapter of the National Association Of Singing Teachers.

Thank you to The Mayor of Canmore, the Town Council and Arts committee for presenting me with the 2011 Outstanding Contribution to the Arts Award. I always enjoy receiving emails from visitors to my website and the comments about videos here and on youtube are especially appreciated. The response to Salaam (Nella) Fanatsia has been fantastic and I am happy to include it in as many concerts as possible.

In the meantime, if you are traveling in Alberta Canada, and visiting the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, you can experience a new high definition video called "Wildness Revealed" which surrounds the audience with stunning images of that beautiful environment and wildlife. My voice was used in the soundtrack and I was intrigued to hear how the various instruments and voice were mixed and transformed to complement the breathtaking images.
