"Michelle Todd stood out for her lively stage presence, highly expressive face and delightful singing"
THE TIMES (LONDON)

Hello and Welcome to my website.

NEW! My interview in The Sondheim Magazine has now been added to the News/Info pages on this website. The magazine has iconic photos and articles from not only the London production, in which I sang the role of Young Heidi, but also articles about the 2011 Broadway production.

A new video from the London Sinfonia promoting their wonderful family concert series is now playing on their website www.cityoflondonsinfonia.co.uk
Open the Whats On page and you will find the video included on the Crash Bang Wallop! page.  It was filmed live during our recent performance of The Tales of Beatrix Potter. This was my sixth performance with the orchestra and as in previous years, sold out. So we all had a lot of fun.

It was also a packed audience when I again joined the Orpheus Choir for a rousing performance of Carmina Burana -  a special congratulations to the children's choir who sang so sweetly with me for Amor volat undique. A special night.

2013 is certainly an interesting year for me not only as as a singer and actress but also as a voice teacher. I'm feeling very excited and energized to be performing  oratorio, chamber music, art song, musical theatre, and presenting vocal masterclasses.  Details of the summer concerts can now be seen on the schedule pages. I'm hoping for some beautiful warm weather for the special concert in Peasholm Park!

I had a terrific evening with the Badke Quartet performing Respighi's dramatic setting of Shelley's poem " Il Tramonto"in the beautiful new concert hall in Kings Place, London. A video of highlights from the performance will be available soon on this website but in the meantime there is a lovely photograph from the concert on the London Chamber Music Society website www.londonchambermusic.org.uk

The Greystone Theatre production of Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods in Saskatoon, Canada had a fantastic cast, crew and musicians. Every performance (and preview) sold out before we even opened!  Huge thanks and congratulations to all of the talented cast who made me so welcome. As they embark on their theatrical careers, I know that the future of  Canadian theatre is in very good hands and I look forward to following their progress and success. Photographs from the production will be added to this website soon.

In other news, a recording of Canadian classical new music, in which I sing as the vocal soloist with Calgary's Ensemble Resonance, was nominated for Best Classical Recording at this year's WCMA Awards. The CD is  titled "Electrospectives" and involves me singing in Portuguese, Chinese, English and even imitating a Chinook wind!!  The score for the duet, Shadows of an Uncounted Journey for voice and violin by Hope Lee, is now available to purchase from Furore Verlag, one of Germany's most prestigious publishers. You can hear some audio extracts from the CD on the recording pages of this website and it is also available to download at CD Baby and itunes.
Ensemble Resonance has a new website and there are some interesting videos including our recent performance at the Western Canadian Music awards. www.ernewmusic.com

I am currently on the Board of the Canadian Voice Care foundation and  have also been President of the Inter Mountain chapter of the National Association Of Singing Teachers. Information on these organisations can be found on their respective websites.
Please contact me directly for information about private vocal lessons, adjudicating or masterclass presentations in Canada or UK.

Thank you to The Mayor of Canmore, the Town Council and Arts committee for presenting me with the Outstanding Contribution to the Arts Award. It was a delightful surprise and I extend my thanks to my family, friends, teachers, mentors, students, musical colleagues and the audiences who have supported me throughout my career.

I always enjoy receiving emails from visitors to my website and the comments about videos here and on youtube are especially appreciated. The response to Salaam (Nella) Fanatsia has been fantastic and I am happy to include it in as many concerts as possible.

In the meantime, if you are traveling in Alberta Canada, and visiting the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, you can experience a new high definition video called "Wildness Revealed" which surrounds the audience with stunning images of that beautiful environment and wildlife. My voice was used in the soundtrack and I was intrigued to hear how the various instruments and voice were mixed and transformed to complement the breathtaking images.

Hope you visit me again soon.
