"Michelle Todd stood out for her lively stage presence, highly expressive face and delightful singing"
THE TIMES (LONDON)

Hello and Welcome to my website

Exciting news!  I have been invited to perform at the 2010 Unity Awards gala concert on August 28th which this year will be held in Canada for the first time.

The new concert schedule for summer and autumn is now updated on the News- Info pages. I'm very happy to be returning to the UK and performing for a third year in Scarborough. This year I will be singing at their Gala In the Park and also returning with my Reel Music programme. This is such a fun concert with popular and classical songs from the movies accompanied by footage on the big screen. A real family event! There will be many more performances added in the next few weeks as the dates become finalized, including my first time performing in Italy! There is also a sneak preview of some of the shows at the beginning of 2011....lots to enjoy.

The springtime was especially interesting this year with a mixture of oratorio, concert and acting engagements.
In honour of legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, who celebrated his 80th birthday on March 22nd, I  presented a Celebrating Sondheim cabaret with vocalist Michael Hope. Last year we performed together with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra featuring the music of another great musical theatre composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. The comments and audience reaction made us want to work together again, so last September we decided that Sondheim's 80th birthday would be the perfect time to offer an evening of 'hit's" from Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, Company, Assassins and more. Over the years I've performed in six different Sondheim shows and early in my career I had the amazing privilege of working with Sondheim on the award winning London production and recording of Follies.

Thank you all for your support and emails last season. AND...thanks to your support my versions of Ave Maria by Mascagni and Caccini continue to stay in the top three places in their respective itunes charts!

One of the world's most prestigious music publishing houses- Editions Peters - has recently published a set of Four Theatre Songs for soprano by the British composer Stephen McNeff, texts by playwrite Edward Bond. I performed the world premiere of these songs many years ago in London and I am delighted that they are now available. I highly recommend any classical singer looking for new repertoire to feature these songs in their concert programmes.

In the meantime, if you are travelling in Alberta Canada, and visiting the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, you can experience a new high definition video called "Wildness Revealed" which surrounds the audience with stunning images of that beautiful environment and wildlife. My voice was used in the soundtrack and I was intrigued to hear how the various instruments and voice were mixed and transformed to complement the breathtaking images.

Finally, in answer to an email query- I enjoy the singing styles of many sopranos. I am constantly inspired and intrigued by the work of Renee Fleming, Dawn Upshaw, Barbara Bonney, Christine Shafer, Patricia Petibon, Kathleen Battle, Sumi Jo, Sissel, Sarah Brightman, Katherine Jenkins and Celtic Woman.
